organic vegan kitchen

the cafe started in the '90s as a way to reduce food waste in the co-op, making sandwiches and lunch bowls for volunteers out of the tiny FoE kitchen. bulk shoppers began asking about what was cooking, and before we knew it the cafe had started.

30 years later we’re still serving our delicious, organic and gluten free lunch bowls, as well as organic vegan pies, pizza, sweets and drinks. our daily mixed plate (mon-sat) changes each day to incorporate the fresh produce we have available and reduce food waste. it is always organic, vegan and gluten free! keep scrolling to see some of our offerings

our kitchen organic waste is collected by Fitzroy primary school kitchen garden program for composting and chicken feed. together we have diverted 15 years of organic kitchen waste from landfill and we are so thankful for the support of this ongoing community relationship.
